It’s time for Tipnut’s Weekly Update! Today you’ll find an update for homemade dishwasher detergents, a tutorial for smocked gingham cover-ups (for appliances), new potato salad & pasta salad recipes, tips for cleaning bathrooms (includes peppermint cleaner recipes) plus a fresh batch of crafts, DIY projects and clever ideas for you to check out. Have fun!

About Tipnut.com

  • 16 Homemade Dishwasher Detergent Recipes: {Updated}: There’s been a lot of feedback and recipes submitted by readers in the comments section over the years (200+ so far) so I handpicked a few and added them to the page so they could be more easily found (recipes and white cloudy residue fixes). Thanks to all who contributed!
  • 25+ Potato Salad Recipes To Try: I’ve redone the page from top to bottom, features plenty of new recipes to try. Just in time for summer barbecues! You’ll also find a big update for pasta salads on this page.
  • Smocked Gingham Cover-Ups: Vintage pattern cutie from my personal collection, I added it to the bottom of the appliance covers page (where you’ll find more tutorials from around the web).
  • Herbs & Spices: Storage Tips Guide: This page has been updated to include the DIY spice rack projects and the previously published spice and seasoning blend recipes (apple pie spice, poultry seasoning, pickling spice, salt-free seasoning shakes and more).
  • Bring Bathrooms To A Shine {Plus DIY Peppermint Cleaners}: Re-done from top to bottom, here are some quick tips for cleaning (including a section just for toilets) as well as some nice recipes for making peppermint cleaners (shower scrub, mold remover, toilet bowl cleaner and more).

Oldies But Goodies:

  • Make Your Own Vanilla Extract: I got a bit nostalgic and freshened up this page which was one of the very first articles here on Tipnut way back in 2006 (features recipes, tips and frequently asked questions). I know the info has been replicated across many sites online, but I think it’s still the best resource around (maybe I’m biased, lol).
  • How To Freshen Your Home With Eucalyptus: Eucalyptus is one of nature’s most powerful disinfectants. Here are some DIY cleaners you can make with Eucalyptus oil (features a soft scrub, kitchen countertop spray, tub scrub and more).
  • How To Clean A Coffee Pot: {Plus Tips}: If you have that grungy brown film on your glass pots, here’s a quick & easy tip for getting rid of it.

Ready to check out the project updates added to the site collections this week? Here you go…

*I’ve updated the format for the new projects section below, how it works: click on the images to access the direct link to the project itself, click the text links underneath to view the project pages here on Tipnut that they’ve been added to. I’ll likely continue tweaking things a bit but let’s see how this goes, I hope you like the change!
