I was so happy last Fall when Tipnut.com reached over a million visitors a month (reaching the goal in time for my 5th blogging anniversary!)…and now just a few months later, last month rocked the charts at 1.5 million absolute unique visitors and as close as close can be to 70,000 weekly newsletter subscribers.
For someone who updates her blog just once a week, has no Facebook page, can’t understand what the big deal is about Twitter and does no marketing or promotion…Yowza…the growth is completely organic and due to the generosity of Tipnut readers. I thank you so very, very much!
Sometimes in life we come across that one person who’s a knowledge fiend hungry for all the information they can get their hands on regarding their favorite hobby (antique bottles, old fossils, postage stamps, etc.). I happen to be that crazy gal who loves collecting tips and creative ideas and isn’t afraid to dig deep into the web and share them with anyone interested.
Thank you so much for hanging out here with me and sharing this site with your friends. Who knew one old gal’s passion would be appreciated and shared by so many! As always, I’ll continue doing my best to keep things fresh and original here and of course, continue to be diligent about giving credit where credit is due

Recently there were tips on what to do with denim. I’ve found a way to cheaply keep me well supplied with good quality fabric. I go to my local thrift shop when they have a brown bag sale.$5 a bag, cram in all you can. I head to the men’s department and get the biggest, best looking jeans I can and then after laundering, cut them up for my project(s). I get lots of quality fabric this way and there is little waste.
I do the same thing Susan!! I don’t buy fabric anymore…I get mine at thrift stores as clothes…LOL!
We do, too. We are blessed with a nearby Goodwill Clearance Center where you can buy by the bagful. For the price, we even buy pieces that have a few small ‘bad spots’, go home and cut them up, and put them to good use. New fabric is expensive and you know Grandma always said, “Waste Not, Want Not”.
Thanks always for your wonderful ideas always useful to me.
Wednesday´s truly feel like Xmas when I see your mail. Thx you sooooo much!
I also look in the linens at the thrift store – you can get some nice sized pieces of material for dresses or nightgowns.
I love TipNut – it’s a breath of fresh air to this busy working woman who currently has little spare time or energy for homey stuff like I used to. But times will change! This site helps me keep my creativity batteries recharged. Thank you so much ~ Carol
Hi. This is more of a question than a comment. I am interested to know if you have any patterns and ideas to make with looms. There have been several inserts on the Expresso programme on SABC 3 in the mornings recently. They have used different shapes from small round looms up to quite large round looms, as well as the long and short elongated loom (with around 18 pegs on).I really hope that you will be able to source patterns and ideas to put on TipNut.
Thanks for a wonderful email which i really enjoy each week.

Hi. Do you have any patterns and ideas to be used on a plastic loom (round and elongated).
Hi! Congratulations on 1.5million visitors. Just remember we wouldn’t all be here supporting you, if you weren’t putting in the effort for us, so well done all around. We appreciate it just as much as you do. Thank you and keep up the great work.
Hugs, CarolXXX
Happy anniversary and congratulations on reaching 1.5m unique visitors in one month!
That is quite an achievement and you must be very proud. Remember, if you weren’t so brilliant you wouldn’t have so many fans.It just proves how much hard work you put into this every week.
I really enjoy getting your newsletter every week and I’ve picked up so many handy tips. Don’t ever stop.
Thank you,
Jo

Congratulations on reaching such an awesome visitor milestone! Your diversity of crafts and tips and very useful inspiring reading just sells itself – I often pass on my TipNut newsletter and others love it. Keep up the great work, I’d be so glum without my weekly TipNut fix. You rock!
Congrats on your milestones and achievements! I have to say that I think the reasons you’ve done so well is your excellent content, your never-ending commitment, and your absolutely great attitude. With all that going for you, who needs Facebook?
We’ll never meet this side of the Great Divide, but I think of you as a best friend. If I could choose only one website to visit, it would always be tipnut.com!
