It’s time for Tipnut’s Weekly Update! Today you’ll find this month’s vintage pattern freebie, an easy crusty bread recipe (that’s left to rise overnight), new vintage tips added (for canning and jelly/jam making), quick updates added to the pages for natural moth repellents, poison ivy (& oak) remedies and how to freeze eggs, plus a fresh batch of crafts, DIY projects, free printables and clever tips & tricks for you to check out. What’s New:

Vintage Embroidery Designs: Dishware Set: A set of six different motifs featuring assorted kitchen items (such as cookie jar, frying pan and pots, dishes, etc.).

Victory Gardening Booklet CoverI’ve added a handful of new vintage tips to 26 Canning Tips – Timeless Wisdom Collection: (from a 1940s Victory Garden booklet).

I also added instructions (including an illustration) for testing jelly and testing juice for pectin on the Vintage Jelly & Jam Making Tips: Timeless Wisdom page. These tips are also from a vintage booklet for Victory Garden/Canning.

Home Canning: Definitions Guide & Signs Of Spoilage: This information was originally on two pages and I’ve combined them into one to make a convenient reference sheet.

Poison Ivy (& Oak): Home Remedies For Relief: A new mint lard salve recipe has been added to the page, this was found written on a slip of paper in the back of an old recipe box.

A quick tip for extending the shelf life of egg yolks (refrigerated) has been added to the page Can Eggs Be Frozen? You Betcha!

How To Get Rid of Moths With Natural Repellents: This page has been updated with a few new ideas (no more mothballs!)

Easy Crusty Bread: Dough is left to rise overnight (12 to 18 hours) and bakes up with a nice crust. Includes a few flavor variations to try (cheddar, lemon & rosemary, cranberry, orange & almond).

I do look forward to Wednesdays! My computer is very old and I have a dial-up internet here in the ‘boonies’ so surfing the net is not a fun thing to do. TipNut does it for me. It is such fun to try the new ideas and recipes. Thanks so much for your hard work and the fun it gives to me.
