40 Household Jobs In 5 Minutes or Less
Today’s feature is from Woman’s Day Magazine with 40 Household Jobs In 5 Minutes or Less, I’ve also included another 12 ideas below:
You’ve done it, you know you have: looked at a messy room, sighed and walked away. Just thinking about cleaning the house is enough to exhaust, and deter, most of us. Then one day it hit me: I could clean my entire refrigerator (a job that always seemed overwhelming) one shelf, and a few minutes, at a timeāand never feel the pain. I began timing other routine housekeeping tasks and found that almost all can be broken into five-minute “bites.” You’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish in such a short amount of time.
A quick peek at some of the 5 minute jobs listed:
- Change the linens on one bed
- Bathroom: Toilet Tidy-Up
- Declutter and tidy a small, or half of a large, under-sink cupboard.
- Iron one cotton shirt, spraying with water or steam as you go.
- Gather old newspapers and magazines and prep them for recycling or donation.
- Clean the top and blades of a ceiling fan with a damp soft rag.
12 more ideas from Tipnut:
- Wash the cutlery organizer and replace utensils neatly
- Dust tv & computer screens
- Do a quick wipe inside the microwave (the more you do this, the less you’ll need to do this)
- Wipe down a chair for pet hair
- Wash your broom
- Wash and wipe down the outside of the washer and/or dryer
- Shake out and sweep an entrance mat
- Dust some lampshades
- Wipe down a door or two, top to bottom–both sides
- As FlyLady suggests, clean out your kitchen sink, wash it then polish it to a shine
- Give your kitchen drain a boost (monthly recipe found at the bottom of this post)
- Wash out a small garbage pail or can (inside and out)
