Plastic Bag Organizer Tube: Repurposing Tip
Today’s feature is from Living Senses with this quick project for Paper Towel Tube to Drawer Organizer:

Paper Towel Tube Organizer Project By living-senses.blogspot.com
I don’t know about you, but I can’t stand all those loose produce and bread bags in my drawer, and throwing them away is not my favorite thing, either. This idea came to me some time ago and I’ve been using it ever since. You could fill this tube with fabric produce bags, too.
You can use a regular piece of paper towel tube to organize your plastic bags, but I like this idea better: cover the tube up with some contact paper first. Makes it look a lot nicer don’t you think?
All you need is an empty paper towel roll and some contact paper. Stuff the tube with loose plastic bags and pull them out one at a time as you need them. Pretty simple but what a way to tidy up those bags!
Please visit the site above to view pictures and the steps involved for covering the tube, nice job! Also check out 20 Things You Can Use Twice Before Tossing for more repurposing ideas.

Hi, the paper towel bag dispenser is a good idea. I have another, for years I have used a tissue box for all bread bags, veg. bags, etc. It works well because it has the plastic at the opening to keep the bags corralled and it fits into the corner of the drawer.

I use empty boutique tissue boxes the same way. Just stuff the bags in a nd pul them out when needed.
I put these little plastic bag tubes in my car – great to have extra bags when going to the farmers market or at the beach (for wet towels)or garbage bags for the car or anyplace you need to have some extra ‘carrying power’. The tubes go right under the car seat and are out of the way till you need them.I also have reused tissue boxes for the same purpose. You can stuff a lot of those plastic bags in an empty tissue box. And it’s so much better to reuse EVERYTHING that you can !
I covered the empty tube from box of plastic wrap & used it in the bathroom to store my ponytail holders. It is just the right size for the smaller scrunchies & does not strech them out, just contains them neatly in one place.
What a great idea! I actually use the produce bag to house my compost bits on the counter. I have a stand the bags fit into perfectly and we just take them and empty the bag in the compost pile daily.
I love this idea, especially because it can be stored neatly in the car and fits nicely into a kitchen drawer. Currently I am using coffee canisters in a deep drawer that holds my kitchen trash bags. I have a large canister for the grocery bags and smaller canisters to hold smaller bags. I have just enough room for a small recipe box whose lid broke off to hold twist ties. I use the cannister lids for under potted plants as a cushion so there are no pot marks on the shelves they sit on.
I also use empty trash bag boxes to house my plastic bags…a little bigger than the tissue box but same concept of pulling one out when you need it. My grocery store has a recycling bin at the front door. When my supply overflows I take the extras and toss them in as I go!
I use my daughters old sweat pants w/ elastic at the ankle and a clip hanger to stuff plastic bags in the 18 mo old size works well.
