Assorted Beach Bags To Make

Here’s an updated list of bags for the beach or pool with many large enough to carry several towels and all your supplies. Most of these are free sewing patterns but I did tuck in a couple crochet projects at the bottom. I’ll be adding to this list as I find more goodies, enjoy!

Oversized ^[1]: Finished size measures 25″ wide x 28″ long and is roomy enough to hold lots of gear. Handles are made with cotton webbing.

Large With Mesh ^[2]: Supplies needed are fiberglass mesh and grosgrain ribbon, this couldn’t be easier to whip up.

Totable ^[3]: Made with a towel and fabric of your choice. Not really a tote but you can roll up swimming gear and carry.

Bucket-Style ^[4]: This has a drawstring closure and fabric handles, lots of pictures and detailed instructions.

Heavy-Duty Cotton ^[5]: Made with heavy-duty cotton fabric panels and size 14 cotton cord or rope.

Converts Into A Mat ^[6]: Can be used for not only carrying your stuff but also as a mat to lay on the sand.

With Purse Handles ^[7]: Ribbon, Velcro, and a few basic supplies are all that’s needed for this stylish accessory. Features circular handles.

Bamboo Purse ^[8]: This has u-shaped bamboo handles, is lined and features a zipped inner pocket.

Patchwork ^[9]: Colorful towels are cut into strips, arranged as you like then stitched together, can be any size you wish.

Vinyl Bottom ^[10]: Loaded with pockets and features, this is made with fabric, fusible vinyl, vinyl table cloth material (for inside bottom), velcro, elastic and other basic supplies.

Tank Top ^[11]: Ideal little project for non-sewers, this one’s made with a knit tank top and fabric glue.

Vintage Goodie ^[12]: Lined with plastic and will fold out so you can use it as a mat/tablecloth, zips closed.

Duffel Style ^[13]: Quilted and has two large pockets on each end and cotton webbing for handles.

Upcycled ^[14]: A quick & easy project using repurposed materials, minimal sewing involved.

Two Harbors ^[15]: Made with cotton ticking (just a yard or so) and features rope handles, via pdf download.

Splish Splash ^[16]: Sturdy and roomy, includes templates for the fish applique shapes.

With Outer Pockets ^[17]: For more advanced sewers, this has several outer pockets around the bottom, top has a drawstring closure.

Plastic ^[19]: This is made with plastic rafia yarn and features an elastic drawstring closure with attached purse straps (20″).

Cheery Stripes ^[20]: Made with a variety of colorful yarn scraps. Features cute little buttoned flowers at each handle base.
