Old-Fashioned Juicy Burgers Recipe By thekitchn.com

  1. Recipe: Old-Fashioned Juicy Burgers: There are hundreds of ways to make a burger, but here’s an old family recipe which guarantees flavorful, juicy burgers every time. Recipe found at The Kitchn.
  2. Blue Cheese Sirloin Burgers with Red Wine-Onion Jam: There is only one ingredient that can improve on the superb combination of beef and red wine: blue cheese. For these blue cheese sirloin burgers with red wine-onion jam, excerpted from Bobby Flay’s Grill It!, Bobby recommends using Cabrales, a Spanish cheese usually made from pure cow’s milk (sometimes it is blended with sheep and goat milk) and aged for months in limestone caves. If you’re local cheesemonger doesn’t carry Cabrales, Stilton, Maytag, or Roquefort would work well, too. Don’t skimp on the mustard—it’s the crowning touch. Recipe found at Serious Eats.
  3. White Castle-like Sliders: A How To: Long before Himself and children, my roommate Sara and I would make the trek to White Castle’s for some sliders or Gut Busters as we liked to call them. Piping hot and smelling so good we could down two or three before our brain knew what was happening and made us slow down. Kinda like Krispie Kreme Hot and Nows. Those days are far away and so is the nearest White Castle, therefore I have resorted to making my own. I have tried the frozen kind but I prefer fresh. Recipe from Big Red Kitchen.
  4. Spicy Jalapeno Sliders: Recipe from The Food Network.
  5. Pioneer Woman’s Favorite Burger Ever: The point is, I’m major-league HM when it comes to burgers. And today, I’m going to show you my current favorite. *Please note that my favorite burger changes weekly. Will keep you posted. Over and out. Recipe from The Pioneer Woman Cooks.
  6. Jamaican Jerk Burgers: Looking for a way to spice up a summer barbecue? Try these hamburger patties, seasoned with a homemade Jamaican jerk spice mixture of Scotch bonnet peppers, allspice, thyme, cinnamon, nutmeg, green onions, and garlic. Scotch bonnets, or their habanero cousins, are insanely hot, so you don’t really need much, half a 1 1/2-inch long pepper, seeds removed. Some people substitute jalapenos, but the flavor really is different, so I would stick to Scotch bonnets or habaneros if you can get them. Cool off the chili heat with a citrus, mayo-based coleslaw. The oil in the mayo helps to absorb the spicy chili, to take the edge of the heat. Recipe from Simply Recipes.
  7. Basil Chavrie-Stuffed Burgers: This recipe is easily modified to use turkey instead of the lean ground beef, or even a black bean burger recipe for the patties. Vegan? Nix the egg and Worcestershire, and use some vegan cream cheese instead of the goat cheese! Recipe found at Daily Delish.
  8. Bulgogi Burgers with Roasted Thai Basil Garlic Potatoes: Fantastic. Just fantastic. Zak cooked the meat so that it was still juicy on the grill, and the potatoes were crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. Better than french fries, in my opinion, and the Thai basil and garlic combination was a winner. The onion jam, Rooster, kimchee and leaf lettuce added textural contrast and layers of flavor to the already quite tasty burgers, and the whole-wheat buns held it all together. Recipe from Tigers & Strawberries.
  9. Burgers Smothered in a Caramelized Onion, Mushroom and Blue Cheese Sauce: The sauce was so tasty and it went really well on the burgers. Caramelized onions, mushrooms and blue cheese is such a great flavour combination! The burger patties themselves were nice and moist despite the high heat cooking. I served the burgers on slightly grilled whole wheat buns with a side of sweet potato fries. Recipe found at Closet Cooking.
  10. Coffee-Rubbed Cheeseburgers with Texas Barbecue Sauce: Freshly ground coffee adds a depth to the spice rub and brings out the flavor of the meat. Be sure to keep the rub recipe handy. The spice rub would also be great on steaks and chicken. Recipe from Epicurious.
  11. Wild Mushroom-Cheddar Burger: Bobby Flay gives a classic burger a flavorful twist by adding wild mushrooms. Shiitake and cremini are widely available in supermarkets — and not much pricier than basic buttons. Recipe from Reader’s Digest.
  12. Firecracker Burgers Recipe: Stuffed burger recipe from Taste Of Home.
  13. Lamb Burger Recipe with Garlic, Shallots, & Feta on Homemade Rosemary Focaccia: After taking the required photos for Beth, I decided to apply my More, More, More philosophy to her original recipe and mixed some chopped fresh parsley and rosemary from the greenhouse into the meat. Oh, and I also added more shallots and garlic than she told me to, but hopefully she won’t be able to tell in the photos. If I’d had any ripe heirloom tomatoes in the kitchen garden on the day I made these burgers, you can bet they would have been piled high with thick and juicy slices. But since it was still spring, I made due with some freshly picked arugula instead. Recipe found at Farmgirl Fare.
  14. Steph’s Orgasmic Lamb Burger Recipe: FYI – this recipe will yield very soft burgers – nearly sloppy Joe-like if you go heavy on the bbq sauce. If you prefer a more firm burger, go ahead and half the amount of sauce. And by the way, this recipe works great with beef, too! Recipe from Wasabimon.
  15. Chipotle Pork Cheeseburgers: Unless you’re shopping for “meatloaf mix,” it’s easy to overlook ground pork. Smoky pork burgers topped with melted Muenster and creamy avocado will broaden your horizons. Don’t skip the sliced tomatillo—its crisp tartness really perks things up. Recipe from Gourmet.
  16. Chicken Parmesan Burgers: As soon as I read the title of this recipe, my first thought was, “YUM!”. These were pretty much guaranteed to be a hit in our house. We love chicken Parmesan and we love burgers, but it never occurred to me to combine the two. Thanks to Elly for such a phenomenal idea! These completely lived up to my expectations. This is a very simple dinner that requires little effort, and I think it is perfect for a weeknight. I cooked these with the broiler but I’m sure they would be wonderful on the outdoor grill as well. These will definitely be something I make again and again! Recipe from Annie’s Eats.
  17. Rattlesnake Sliders (Snake Not Included): Our Rattlesnake Sliders, more of an homage than a copycat recipe, have just enough heat to keep things interesting. During that last minute of grilling, we topped each one with a small slice of habanero cheddar and sandwiched them in grilled Hawaiian sweet rolls with shredded lettuce and sliced tomato. So far, chili sauce is the condiment of choice, but I’m thinking a little green chile mayonnaise is in order. Recipe from Ezra Poundcake.
  18. Fiery Buffalo Chicken Burgers: Buffalo wings are one of our favorite party foods. Hot and spicy, perfect with a beer. Everybody loves Buffalo wings, right? So I got to thinking…We love chicken burgers, why not try to make a Buffalo version? Wonderfully delicious, tangy and spicy, with a little blue cheese and celery to cool it down just a touch…This particular recipe might burn the roof off of your mouth if you’re not that into nuclear holocaust hot, so keep that in mind if you do decide to try these. lol The heat can easily be scaled back by using Frank’s rather than Tabasco, and leaving out the extra cayennes. But why on Earth would you want to do that? ;) Recipe from CanaryGirl.
  19. Spicy Turkey Burgers: Chili powder, cumin, fresh jalapeño peppers and cilantro liven up quick and easy turkey burgers. Recipe found at Blue Kitchen.
  20. Turkey Burgers With Garlic Scape Pesto Mayonnaise: I used a combination of white and dark turkey meat, onions (slowly caramelized in olive oil and balsamic vinegar), toasted pine nuts, small bits of dried apricots, some roasted garlic, and freshly ground coriander seeds. To slather on the buns, I simply mixed some mayonnaise, a few teaspoons of pesto stored in my fridge, and some freshly minced garlic scapes. Although John had his doubts on the merits of a turkey burger, he devoured this quickly enough to convince me it was good. Recipe found at The Garden Apartment.
  21. Roasted Pepper Veggie Burger: The burgers are a breeze to throw together, and the taste is like nothing you will find in their manufactured counterpart. I love the depth that the roasted peppers bring, set-off by the brightness of the cilantro. The sauteed exterior develops a wonderful, golden crunch, split open to reveal a creamy, hummus-like filling. Recipe found at Buff Chickpea.
  22. Grilled Portabella and Brie Burgers: This “burger” included layers of grilled vegetables marinated in balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper. I spread July’s Ile de France Cheese of the Month, Brie, on the warm grilled bun. Oh oh oh. Recipe found at Aggie’s Kitchen.
