$5 DIY: Cabinet Door Recipe Message Center

We wanted to create a convenient little bulletin board in the kitchen to keep favorite recipes and meal ideas on hand (and on our mind- anything in a recipe book is so far out of sight that it’s immediately forgotten). But we also didn’t want our collection of clippings to clutter things up in the kitchen.

Our solution? A hidden pin board that we created in around ten minutes for under $5.

I mentioned a similar idea on 10 Easy Organizing Tricks For The Kitchen, but using clear plastic sleeves:

Insert kitchen reference charts and favorite recipes in clear plastic sleeves then hang on the inside of kitchen cupboard doors for easy access. They can easily be wiped clean as well as keeps often used info at your fingertips.

Whichever method you choose, this is a really handy way to keep reference material at your fingertips. I’m forever looking up cooking measurements and baking substitutions, there’s nothing easier than opening up a cupboard door and getting the info you need. The one bonus with plastic sheets is that they are easy to wipe off, but you could use those for the cork boards too (I just use sticky putty).

But the best perk: All your clutter notes are neat and tidy behind closed doors .
