Homemade Cookie Recipes
After the earlier tip today (Tips Guide For Making Homemade Cookies), there could only be one batch of recipes for this week’s Recipe Hit List–Cookies! Here are a dozen tempting cookie recipes–I’m confident there’ll be a recipe or two in here that will tempt you to get out the mixing bowl and cookie sheets …
Recipe Hit List: The Cookie Batch
Torie’s Cherry Chocolate-Chunk Cookies: These drop cookies aren’t fussy to make and have some of my favs for cookie ingredients: dried cherries, chocolate, toffee pieces–luv it! From the site: “Torie Hallock makes these everything-but-the-kitchen-sink cookies at Skylands, Martha’s house in Maine. Toffee pieces can be found in the baking sections of grocery stores.” Recipe found at Martha Stewart’s website.- Peanut Butter Pinwheels: A twist to the favorite chocolate pinwheel cookie, these are peanut butter instead. From the site: “They’re sturdy enough to pack in a lunch box and pretty enough to serve at a luncheon or cookie exchange. In fact, if you see a cookie exchange in your future, you might want to bookmark this.” Found at Cookie Madness.
- Jumbo Peanut Butter Cookies: This blogger promises that these are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, just as a peanut butter cookie should be! Found at Once Upon a Cookie.
- Chocolate Dipped Butter Cookies: A simple favorite that goes over well in both the cookie jar and on the treat trays. This cookie dough can be frozen for up to 2 months. Found at Laura Rebecca’s Kitchen.
- Almond Kiss Cookies Recipe: Press a milk chocolate Kiss into the cookies right when you take them out of the oven, drizzle a light raspberry glaze over top. Sound fussy? Not at all, from the site: “These cookies are unbelievable!” raves Kathy Aldrich of Webster, New York, “They’re easy to make, look elegant and are absolutely delicious. Almond, raspberry and chocolate flavors make a delectable combination.” Found at Taste of Home.
- Lavender Shortbread: Yup, you need dried lavender for this recipe. From the site: “As far as shortbreads go, this one is hard to beat. Its blissful buttery texture that melts in your mouth, its aromatic sweetness and its frosted sugar-coating, it’s the perfect thing to satiate any sweet tooth’s appetite. And what better way to share some love than with a bunch of these cookies, it’s as good as getting a bunch of flowers.” Found at Milk and Cookies.
- Spicy Ginger Crinkle Cookies: I enjoy a good ginger cookie, yum! From the site–”They consist of a molasses/ginger dough that is rolled onto balls, rolled in sugar and then baked. The result is a crackled, spicy cookie that is perfect with milk and tea. Kids who like strong flavors will like them too. The longer you bake then the crispier they become.” Found at The Canadian Baker.
- Chocolate Chip Pistachio Candied Orange Cookies: Oh my! Bittersweet chocolate chunks, lightly toasted pistachios and candied orange peel are used in this decadent cookie. Found at Nook & Pantry.
- Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies: This blogger promises that these cream cheese sugar cookies are simply decadent and boy do I find these tempting! Recipe found at Deanna’s Corner.
- Oatmeal-Cranberry Cookies: The original recipe suggested dipping half the cookie in melted white chocolate, this blogger drizzled instead. As much as I love chocolate, I think I’d skip it (which is another suggestion too). From the site: “These cookies are a twist on an oatmeal-nut cookie. That cookie alone would be tasty, but the addition of dried cranberries gives them a little extra kick of flavor.” Recipe found at Bake or Break.
- Lemon Pistachio Cookies: You can make these with chopped pistachios or macadamias, also has chunks of white chocolate. I don’t know if I dare make these! Found at Apron Strings & Simmering Things.
- Rookie Cookie’s Chocolate Chip Cookie: No cookie list would be complete without a chocolate chip cookie recipe! And one story behind this recipe: these cookies were the cause of an argument between a young couple in love (oy!), but all is well (they got married). From the site: “So I am here to share this recipe with you. I hope you understand what a big deal this is. I have never really shared this recipe. There are a choice few that have it. But I recently realized that I am not Mrs. Fields (much to my dismay) and I need to stop being so selfish. So here you go. They are divine.” Found at Rookie Cookie.
