Recipe Hit List: Cool Summer Treats
The weather’s been very hot here this past week so all I’ve been interested in is cool, refreshing summer treats…here are the recipes I’ve found around the net that caught my eye (there are some neat ideas found in this bunch):
Limonada, Lemonade or Limeade: If you love freshly made homemade lemonade (or limeade) but hate the hassle of squeezing the juice out of all those lemons and limes, check this recipe out–you will not believe this time-saving trick! Found at Laylita’s Recipes.- Plum and Ginger Soda: Here’s how to make a plum & ginger syrup that you then top up with club soda for a refreshing & tasty soda. Recipe found at Appetite For China.
- Hit-The-Spot Lemon Water: No sugar added, this recipe is a perfect drink to try cutting back on soda (see How To Beat The Soda Pop Addiction). Recipe found at Better Homes & Gardens.
- Lemon ‘n’ Lime Strawberry Ice Recipe: Here’s a cool, fruity ice treat. This is a recipe that will keep in the freezer up to 3 months. Found at Taste Of Home.
- Strawberry-Yogurt Popsicles: Strawberries, yogurt with a bit of sugar–yummy guilt free frozen treat from The Kitchn.
- Rhubarb and Raspberry Yogurt Ice Pops: Check out this neat idea–use shot glasses as popsicle molds. These yogurt pops look awesome! Found at La Tartine Gourmande. Also see this other recipe: Easy Lemon, Berry and Yogurt Popsicles found on the same site. Recipes are available in both English & French.
