Whether you want to make a reusable sleeve or cozy for take-out cups or ceramic mugs, this list has you covered. I’ve collected over three dozen different patterns and tutorials for sewn, knit and crocheted projects (all free!) and organized them into their own groups below for easy browsing. These are handy for holding hot beverages and make great homemade gifts for coffee lovers. Enjoy!
Felt : Quick & easy! Two pieces of wool felt are topstitched together, velcro tab closure. Includes template printable.
Quilted : Features a nice edge finished with fabric binding, button & elastic loop closure.
Quilted : Made with scraps of fabric and fusible fleece, has an elastic loop and button closure.
Fabric : This one’s made with just two pieces of fabric (uses a paper liner as a template).
Love Note : Features a clear vinyl window pocket that you can slide in notes or a name label.
Tie : Upcycle a favorite old tie, simple project.
Frilly Felt : You’ll find a few ideas here (scalloped edges, flowers & leaves, butterflies).
Custom-Fit : Here’s how to make one with scraps of fabric, a big button and some batting.
Easy Felt : A strip of felt is cut then folded and zig-zag stitched along one side (template included).
Kureyon : Quick and easy to make, starts with a crochet chain then worked on DPNs.
Tote (Slingshot) : Will fit 16 oz. or 20 oz. Worked on DPNs.
Clutch : An easy ribbed design that tapers at the bottom to fit most sizes.
Button Up : Cabled design that has a button and loop closure between the handle.
Pick-A-Pocket : Features a little pocket to tuck in some extra sweetener or an extra teabag for later! Quick and easy to make with less than 50 yards of sport weight yarn.
Fab Hug : Worked in two colors and features a strap with two buttons for closure.
Granny Style : Reminds me of a Granny Square, this is ideal for using up leftover scraps of yarn.
Pretty : This is embellished with a rolled ribbon or ric-rac & button flower.
Easy Single Crochet : Easy peasy! After the foundation chains are made, the rest of the body is made up of sc.
Right & Left Hand : Patterns for both left and right handed mugs, pdf download.
Half-Mug Style : Covers the bottom (about 3″ in diameter) with space for the handle, button & loop closure.
Buttoned : After making the foundation chain, the body is all done in sc. Buttons closed under the handle.
