Crafters Medley: 30 Neat-O Projects To Make (February)

  1. Picture of Dilly Bag [lurlineg.blogspot.com] - Tipnut.comDilly Bag Tutorial: Here is a lovely little Dilly Bag – 24″ in circumference, 9 1/2″ high and 7″ diameter base (approximate measurements).
  2. Log Cabin Block Pincushion Tutorial: You know at this time with the economy, you need to get as much as you can out of what you got. So very little fabric has to be used.
  3. Copper Bookmark Tutorial: First up is a copper bookmark and this is a beginner project. No metalsmithing or metal arts experience needed. Best of all is that most of the supplies are available at your local chain Home Center or hardware store – or in your husband’s tool chest.
  4. Moccasin Slippers: These slippers are cushy and perfect for a night in with popcorn. They’ll keep your toes warm no matter how cold it is outside. Knitting pattern.
  5. Umbrella Light Cover: A hacksaw shortened the remainder of the pole, and then it was just a matter of some eyehooks screwed into the ceiling and some wire – and – bob’s your uncle – it was done.
  6. Needle Wrap: A Tutorial: A little double-pointed needle wrap, just right for bamboo needles.
  7. Tutorial: Easy Pillow Case With Contrasting Hem: A quick and easy way to make a pillow case in a snap.
  8. Leaf Drawstring Bag: Cute tutorial for a drawstring bag in the shape of a leaf.
  9. Nintendo DS Pouch Tutorial: Nice job! Fold over, envelope style with snap closure.
  10. Duvet Tutorial: Use two flat sheets to create this duvet cover.
  11. Tutorial :: Rachel’s Crochet Hook Case: This could also be used for other items, too! Make the “pockets” a little bigger and you can hold a few pairs of knitting needles. You could make a small art case out of this to hold colored pencils, artist pencils, pens…Pattern is available via pdf download.
  12. How To Make A Super Simple Camera Case: The only materials needed are fabric (outer and inner), bias binding (you could make your own or buy one), matching thread, and a button.
  13. Grumperina’s DPN Roll: Simple roll made from a placemat.
  14. Suey, the Super Sock Pig Pattern and Tutorial: Welcome to the Suey, the Super Sock Pig Pattern and Tutorial. Now you can learn how to mysteriously transform an ordinary sock into something, er, well SUPER!
  15. Reusable Snack Bag Tutorial: Uses scrap sizes of fabric, PUL or oil cloth, velcro closure.
  16. Fat Quarter Tote Bag Tutorial: Tutorial for a tote bag using a fat quarter of fabric. It will use every bit of it, but you do want to make sure everything is squared and true, which may mean you need to trim a little bit here and there to get to those perfect measurements.
  17. Tutorial: Quick Notebook Cover: This is a super easy and quick notebook cover. It took approximately one hour.

  19. Tutorial – Notebook purse/briefcase: Here’s a great idea for gifts, party favors, road trip journals, rainy day projects……..you name it! This project can be altered for girls or boys too.

  23. Snow-Globe Soap: What’s cuter than a button, small enough to fit in a stocking, won’t rot your teeth and leaves you squeaky clean? A mini snow-globe soap, of course! Here’s a super-fun craft you can whip up in an afternoon. It’s quick, it’s easy and it hardly makes any mess!

  26. The T-Shirt Book Cover: Here’s a nifty little project for you to try out, when you don’t want to go out, when it’s cold out. It’s a take on the paper book cover that we were forced as kids to cover all our books with.
  27. DIY Project – Message Marbles: Offered as a wedding favor but I think these would be nice for everyday too. Sprinkled on guests tables and around the reception, these customized “message marbles” are perfect little take aways for guests.
  28. Drawstring Pouch w/ Carrying Strap: There are so many uses for a pouch like this, gorgeous!
  29. Wristlet Tutorial: Plenty of inside pockets for cards, outside pocket, fold-over top with loop/button closure. Nice job!

  1. I have a tip to share. Take an inexpensive square one layer pot holder, fold in half, sew up 3/4 from corner to top. Decorate as you want. Makes a holder for glasses, curling iron, pot handle, pens etc., camera (add a snap or velcro at the opening) and lots more possibilies! Thanks
