DIY Sippy Cups – Recycle Yogurt Containers

DIY Sippy Cup [zakkalife.blogspot.com] - Tipnut.comToday’s feature is from Zakka Life with a handy way to recycle yogurt containers: DIY Sippy Cups

So here’s my answer, disposable sippy cups made out of plastic yogurt containers.

All you need to do is cut a small x on the top of the lid and pop a straw in it. Done. Even if you don’t have kids, you might want to keep some on hand for little visitors. Your floors will thank you for it.

We use these for gelatin desserts. I save the caps to keep the gelatin from drying out and to mark the no-sugar yum(?) from the real stuff. As they hold more than 1/2 cup, use a measuring cup. I find that water- or fruitjuice- packed fruits top them up nicely.

Great idea Emily, those little containers would be perfect for gelatin desserts. Thanks for sharing that!

Awesome idea! I used to get so frustrated that I could not recycle small yogurt containers in my community. But your idea for turning the yogurt container into a sippy cup is an inventive way for reusing these containers. Great idea. Thank you!!

Wash out yogurt containers with plastic lids, then cut a fast-food-style “X” in the lid, big enough for a straw to go through but not much bigger. You’ve got a cheap, reusable sippy cup for tykes or travelers, and one you won’t necessarily mind losing. For a similar trick while traveling, try the same thing with store-bought drink bottles.
