Ingredients:

3 quarts crabapples, washed & cleaned (cut up)
6 tsp Cream of Tartar
5 quarts boiling water

Directions:

  • First dissolve the Cream of Tartar in the boiling water then pour over crabapples. Soak for 24 hrs.
  • Strain, discard apples and pour liquid into large pot. Add sugar to taste. Boil for 15 minutes. Pour in sterilized bottles or canning jars and seal. Can also freeze.
