Faux Stone Dough: Recipe
Materials:
1 cup flour
1 cup used coffee grinds
1/2 cup salt
1/2 cup cold leftover coffee
- Blend all ingredients in a bowl. Mix thoroughly.
- Once mixed well, place the dough on a floured surface and knead until smooth.
- You can store the dough in an airtight container or plastic bag 5 to 6 days.
Once the dough dries, it will have a natural look with a brown color and coffee grind speckles. Faux stone!

I use the faux stone dough when I teach my kindergarteners about dinosaurs. It works great as a fossil example.
Two great tips Bridgett, thanks very much!

What do you use it for and how do you use it? Is it baked or air-dried? I have often used a baked, home-made “playdough” to make ornaments and would like to give this a try for them. Thanks!
Hi Barbara, this is used for any kind of crafty project you like (including ornaments) and it is air dried.
Could I make fake ginger bread men with this recipe? Can I save them to use again next year?
Thanks. JBK
Yes you can jon b but you will need to adjust the coloring to what you want. Good idea btw!
