17 Dish Scrubbies To Make

Scrubbies are nice to use and they’re simple to make too! These are handy in the kitchen for washing dishes and gentle enough to use on appliances and counter tops. Also tuck a few into your cleaning bucket since they wipe away fingerprints and scuffs found around the house (fine to use on painted walls). I love making these (they’re so quick & easy!) and am always looking for new patterns to try. Consider adding this to your handmade gift list for project ideas, lots of people love receiving them!

Loom/Spool Knit ^[3]: These are really scratchy but because the crino is 100% nylon it won’t scratch Teflon or even a ceran top stove. Washer & dryer friendly.

Flowers ^[4]: You’ll need heavy mesh in two different colors and a size J hook.

Rainbow Petals ^[5]: Uses acrylic worsted weight yarn (1 color) and kitchen cotton worsted weight (1 to 4 colors), features a scratchy bobbled center.

Tawashi ^[6]: Recommends using Red Heart Eco-Cotton Blend, which is made out of recycled T-shirt remnants or try acrylic (you want something “scratchy” for more power).

Aloo ^[7]: Made with Aloo yarn but you can opt for thin hemp or linen yarn (for a body/bath) or cotton and acrylic (household).

Garden Twine ^[12]: (knit). Worked in twine and stuffed with wool stuffing, sewn closed with thread.

Pantyhose & Plarn ^[13]: Uses strips of plastic bags and pantyhose.

With Tulle ^[16]: One side is smoother while the other side has ridges (worked in the back loop). You’ll need 6″ wide tulle (cut in half for width of 3″) and a size I hook.
