Fresh Apple Cake Recipe
Ingredients
3/4 cup egg substitute or 3 eggs
3 cups flour
1 cup oil
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon nutmeg
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon ARM & HAMMER® Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup pecans or walnuts, finely chopped
3 cups apple, finely chopped
Directions:
- Reserve 1/4 cup flour and toss with apples and nuts. The flour will help suspend them in the cake batter.
- Beat eggs thoroughly and blend in sugar.
- Add flour and oil gradually alternating them.
- Add baking soda - spices and vanilla and mix well.
- Fold in apples and nuts.
- Bake in a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
- Makes one cake (16 servings)
