Thanks for the mention of the Grocery Savings spreadsheet on my website. The response so far has been pretty positive.

I'm working on an improved version that will allow you to do so much more, including predicting when you can buy groceries the cheapest, and a few other special features. So, keep an eye out.

You have a neat website. I'm a sucker for "make it cheaper than store-bought" recipes, although I ruined a wood-laminate floor one time by refilling a Swiffer bottle, which then leaked all over the floor overnight...sometimes there's a false sense of economy that actually ends up costing you more than you thought you'd saved.

Hi Deborah, which one? Here's the breakdown for both:

Recipe #4:

Makes 4 cups and uses 2 TBS per load. There are 16 Tablespoons in a cup so that mean 8 loads per cup.

4 cups * 8 = 32 loads

Recipe #9

Makes 36 cups and uses 1/8 cup per load.

36 * 8 = 288 loads

Let me know when you read this, I'll be moving both comments over to the laundry detergent thread.
