• Save the clear plastic zipper bags you get from buying bedding and other items, they make perfect yarn and project storage bags. I use these myself for toting around projects since everything’s zipped up neatly and I can just toss the project bag in my tote bag with everything else.
• Double pointed needles often don’t have a size marked on them, you can use a permanent marker to note the size (with dots–2 dots means size 2, etc.).
• Keep an index card in your wallet of all the needle sizes you own so you’ll know whether or not you need to buy new needles for a project.
• When using both ends of a skein of yarn, clip both ends of a ziploc baggy and put the skein in there, feeding each yarn end through a bag hole on each side. Helps keep the yarn untangled.
