I know though that essential oils can mark fabrics if they&#039;re full strength, or at least some of them can. The best bet would be to test first to get a good idea of what fabrics this would be fine with.

To scent the water without essential oil you could try an infusion, but I have no experience with that in relation to using it as fabric starch (ie. will it stain the fabric?) or what the fragrance strength would be.
