Homemade Mustard Recipes
Mustard*
Slice a large onion in bowl. Cover with good vinegar and leave 2 or 3 days. Pour off vinegar. Put in saucepan and add 1 tsp pepper, one of salt, 1 TBS brown sugar. Add enough dry mustard which has been moistened and smooth paste with vinegar. Add and mix well. Bring to a slow boil stirring constantly. Remove from stove and put in jar. Use this cold.
*Found in a 1967 cookbook, stated it was a 75 year old recipe at that time
Homemade Hot Dog Mustard
2 TBS white sugar
2 TBS flour
2 TBS dry mustard
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp tumeric
Mix all dry ingredients together then add 2 cups vinegar. Boil together.
