Orange Extract Recipe

1/2 navel orange (large)
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup vodka

• Peel the half of navel orange and remove all white pith from the peel
• Dice the orange peel rougly
• Combine water, vodka and orange peel in a sterilized glass canning jar
• Cover and store in a cool, dark place to steep (for 3 to 5 days before using)
• Can be used for up to one year

Cute little gifts: strain and pour orange extract into sterilized apothecary bottles or decorative glass jars. Insert spirals of orange peel to add a nice touch.
