Homemade Savory Stove Top Rice Mix
Here’s a recipe you can make in bulk ahead of time and store in a large airtight container. If you find you buy a lot of prepackaged stove top rice bags/boxes, this is just as convenient and more economical.
You can also make gifts in a jar with this recipe if you like.
Savory Stove Top Rice
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups rice
3 cubes of beef bouillon – crumbled
2 tsp dried minced onion
3/4 tsp rosemary (dried)
3/4 tsp thyme (dried)
3/4 tsp marjoram (dried)
Directions:
- Bring 2 1/2 cups of water to a boil, add 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the rice mix.
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer for about 20 minutes until the liquid has been reduced and absorbed.
- Serve.
If you increase the ingredients to make this in bulk, just mix everything really well before scooping out approximately 1 1/2 cups of the rice mix to cook.
