Homemade Wall Cleaner Recipe
Materials Needed:
2 ounces borax
I tsp ammonia
2 quarts water
Simply mix and dissolve the ammonia and borax with the water in a cleaning bucket.
Wall cleaning tips: Scrub dirty walls from the bottom up. This helps prevent hard to remove water streaks that happen as the water runs down the dirty walls when you clean from the top down.
For cleaning textured walls, try using old rags or old socks–using a sponge just produces little annoying bits and chunks of sponge as it pulls apart.
Wrap a small handtowel or washcloth around your wrist and hold it in place with a rubber band. This stops water from running down your arm as you reach up to clean.

Water and Bicarbonate of Soda is also really good for cleaning walls, and with a bit of elbow grease will even remove crayon, which is great as this means my 2 year old budding artist can remove it himself!

But if you wash from the bottom up won’t you still get dirty streaks?

Since the bottom of the wall has been cleaned, the water running down won’t be running through “dirt” on the wall. There’s still be some dripping as you wash up the wall, but the streaks won’t be as filthy and easier to wipe clean.

Also, to keep the water from running down your arms, use sweatbands for your wrists (wristbands).
These are also great for washing your face at night, you don’t have that yucky water running down your arms!
