How To Hem Jeans – Super Easy

Two handy features here showing how to hem jeans. The first tip is from Kansas A with Hemming Jeans, A Tutorial…
I can’t even begin to tell you how many needles I’ve broken while trying to hem jeans. At one point I was going to don safety glasses to protect my eyes from flying needles! But no more! I thought there has to be a better way and today I will show you just what I do. I consider this my 12 Step Program to Hemming Jeans.
Now in my family, we’re all giants. So that means no hemming jobs for me–he he! But back in the day when my son was younger and had issues with pants being too long, I didn’t dare hem them and sent them off to the local professional sewing angel (she was wonderful!). The next feature is from DaciaRay.com with this super-easy tip How To Hem Jeans:
I found this fabulously perfect way to hem jeans on the Cavaricci site, which has since been taken down, so here’s the lowdown. This method keeps the original hem in tact and is especially helpful now that all jeans are made to be 34 inches long for mammoth supermodels. Plus, it took less than 30 minutes.
You basically fold up the hem (right sides together), sew together right at the original hem seam, cut off the excess (leaving 1/2″ for fraying), turn the jeans right side out and press the hem. Voila! Couldn’t be easier. Visit the site for complete details.
