I should know by now before doing a search on something to come here first. My 7 year old is making a backpack up of different things pertaining to nature to carry around with him this summer. He saw one in a science catalog and wanted it so bad but it cost $99. So I got his bookbag and said lets see what we can find around the house that we already have to put in your nature bookbag. He went and got the bird book, a folder and put paper and tracing paper in it. Pencil, compass, flashlight, binoculars, a little critter habitat that came in a kids meal from Sonic, and a fishing rules & regulation booklet. In the kit from the catalog there is several different books and a small flower press. I thought we should be able to make one of those and wouldn’t you know it I found it here!!! Until we can gather more inexpensive things to add to his backpack we also cut up some yarn for nesting material and put a small pack of bird seed in it also.
Thanks
