How To Make Chinese Tea Eggs
Today’s feature is from Team Sugar with the instructions for Chinese Tea Eggs: These are so easy and simple to make!:
Tea Eggs (cha ye dan): A cheap snack food, found all over China. In spite of the name, tea is not the dominant flavour.
Ingredients include eggs, soy sauce, tea, salt, sugar, star anise, cinnamon and peppercorns. The recipe is easy enough to accomplish (no fancy kitchen footwork involved), but I’m a little iffy about this one. I’ve never tried a Chinese Tea Egg so I’m not so sure about this, lol. But they do look so interesting and I’m tempted. Let me know what you think of them

I personally love Chinese Tea Eggs. It’s hard to find someone that enjoy the taste though. So far, the only people I know who enjoys this as much as I do is my mom.

I LOVE Chinese tea eggs–a little salty, a little sweet, a very tiny tea flavor. They are ugly to look at, but oh that taste!
