Kitchen Proverbs Vintage Embroidery Pattern: Beauty Will Not Season Soup
Here is this week’s free embroidery pattern from the Kitchen Proverbs series: “Beauty Will Not Season Soup”.
Today’s pattern has the bonnet girl admiring herself in a hand mirror with her back turned to the big pot of soup cooking on the stove behind her.
It has been ages since I’ve come across this saying, it’s quite an oldie!

You’ll find the color and stitch key for this pattern here.
If you missed the first pattern, complete instructions for this pattern series are found here. I publish one pattern a week, each on a different day.
Printing Instructions: Make sure to save the pattern to your computer desktop first (right click, save as…), then open the file on your computer, select “Print”, uncheck anything like “Maintain Aspect Ratio” and “Fit To Page” then print. These will all fit on an 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheet of paper.

Thank you very much for these beautiful patterns. Will there be more? You say you have collected for years - so have I!

Hi Daphine, yup I’ll be sharing more…taking a break though until the end of May or so. For the next few weeks I’ll share vintage crochet, knitting or sewing patterns just for a change and give something to those who don’t embroider.
But yes–definitely you can expect more embroidery patterns soon :).

I’ve never heard this saying before (but I know the others). Thanks for sharing all of your embroidery patterns!

Thank you very much! I look forward to the next set. I also crochet (a lot!) and knit (a little), so I’ll be watching for those patterns, too.
