Makeup Brush Maintenance Tips

  • Every month you should wash your brushes thoroughly.
  • Don’t use the same brush for both light and dark shades–use one brush for each. Helps avoid dark streaks when applying light highlight shades.
  • Try using your daily skin cleanser when cleaning brushes. This helps avoid allergic reactions as the professional brush cleansers can be harsh.
  • After you wash the brushes, reshape immediately and allow to dry. Make sure the brushes are thoroughly dry before using again.
  • When brushes start shedding and the bristles frizz, replace with new ones.

    Baby Shampoo works wonderfully to clean makeup brushes! I’ve found it works even better than those expensive brush cleansers.
