It is acid, and should not be used on stone. But there are TONS of cleaners out there that say they are for stone/granite and have vinegar or other acids in them, claiming to be "green". There is a nice profit margin in fancy-ing up vinegar and claiming it can clean just about anything. Vinegar is an amazing cleaner but VERY bad for stone.
