35+ Lovely Mittens To Make
Posted By Tipnut On December 14, 2010 @ 3:37 am In Crochet,Knitting,Sewing | 3 Comments
Lots of different styles here, something for everyone! Most of the patterns I’ve collected are for knitting but I’ve found a few crochet and sewing projects to include in the list as well (you’ll find those towards the bottom). Tip: Don’t miss the bonus found at the bottom of the page for making your own blockers.
Larus & Ardea Half-Mitts : Includes a three-strand cast-on, twined purl, crook stitch, and chain paths.
That Zig : Chevron design in two colors that are worked on DPNs. Finished size fits Ladies (size L) or Men (size M) though easy enough to adjust as needed.
Snowman Design : Quick to whip up, worked in DPNs and a cable needle to work the design.
Fable : Made with 50 grams d.k yarn and 4 mm straight needles.
Warm Winter Style : Includes directions for an optional long cuff.
Newfie : Adult sized with notes to adjust for children.
Cozy Shetland Marl : I love the different colored panels on these–great for stash busting!
Thrummed : This fits a woman’s medium sized hand. You can adjust the size by adding or subtracting 1 inch to the final length desired.
Fair Isle : Finished Measurements: 9 1/4″ long, 7 1/4″ hand circumference.
Garter Stitch : Since it’s garter stitch you can just each the same and then turn one inside out to make the pair.
Axel : These are fingerless with a top that can roll down.
Seriously Chunky : Easy project to whip up.
Hat Set : Made from a felted sweater, includes directions for making a matching hat.
Felt With Cuff : Makes a Women’s Medium, includes template to download. Cuff is knit on DPNs.
Sweater & Fleece : A wool sweater is felted (instructions provided) and used for the outer fabric, fleece is used for lining.
Mrs. Murdoch’s : A no-frills design using worsted weight yarn.
Puff/Bobble : This is designed to fit both left and right hands.
