DIY Project: Mosaic House Numbers
Today’s feature is from IDEAS with this Mosaic House Numbers Project:
Mosaic is the art of covering and decorating a surface or item with small mosaic tiles or tesserae (individual mosaic pieces).
Anything from pieces of glass and tile to marble and ceramics can be used and arranged in a pattern before being glued into place. The grooves or spaces between the individual mosaic tiles are filled in with grout.
The art of mosaic dates back as far as the fourth century BC, and remains popular to this day.
I don’t see materials listed for this particular project, but it looks like shells are used for the flowers, pebbles are used for the house numbers and tiles are used for the border and filling in the rest of the mosaic.
Nice project and you’re sure to have a one-of-a-kind house number displayed.

this is so funny to me … only that I do mosaic and wanted a new house number and couldn’t think of what to do … and here’s the idea … thanks so much for jogging my brain!
Went home and made one. Thanks I had all the material handy and am now just waiting for it to “cure” to stick it up. Of course, it’s not like anyone else’s but I’m not like anyone else either, and I bet you’re not! Thanks again for the inspiration.
