Blog Update: Moving Subscriptions
Feedburner is the service that I use to deliver email updates and rss feed delivery. It was purchased some time ago by Google and they are having everyone move their Feedburner accounts to a Google account.
I am very nervous about this since support and service (stability) hasn’t been very good for several months now, but I have no choice but to make the move. I’ll start the process today. See the pic below for what I’m talking about, I didn’t add Feedburner to Tipnut until 2007 (the dips are drops on Feedburner’s end, not an actual mass exodus of subscribers):

It could be Google is feeling the economy crunch and the staffing numbers & technical support just isn’t up to snuff, but I’ll hope for the best.
It may take a couple days for things to smooth out once I make the move, so if you don’t receive your email updates for tomorrow (Saturday) or next week (starting Monday), not to worry–Tipnut will still be running as usual. Pop in to catch the latest while I pull my hair out trying to fix any problems (as I mentioned above–Feedburner support is frustratingly lacking).
The subscriber count (showing in the top right corner of the Tipnut site) may be really low and wonky for awhile, but that’s not a big concern. I’m just hoping you’ll get your tip updates smoothly! I’ll make backups of all email accounts so no subscriber is lost.
Hopefully all will go well! For my fellow bloggers in the same boat as I am–you have until the end of the month to make the move (login to your Feedburner account for the news). I hope things will go smoothly for you, if not–try the Feedburner support forum. Yell daily if you have to, eventually (hopefully) your account will be fixed (?).
