How To Make Old Candles New Again

Picture of Candle Jars [suzannemcminn.com] - Tipnut.comToday’s feature is from Chickens In The Road with this tip for Recycling Candles:

Since I usually gravitate to “food” scents like apple, vanilla, cinnamon, pumpkin pie, etc, those blend well. (If you’re not recycling from strongly-scented candles, you might need to add more scent as you may “cook” the scent out while re-melting the wax. Add scent at the last minute. The candles I was recycling were strongly-scented, so I didn’t add any more scent. They came out smelling nicely spicy! Like I was baking ten different things in my kitchen at the same time.)

How many bits of candles, burned down candle jars and votives have you thrown out over the years? This tutorial encourages you to save all those candle remnants, scrape out the wax, remove the bits of wick and metal bits, wash out the jars then make brand new candles to enjoy. Pretty resourceful way to extend your candles and super easy to do!
