Organizing Tip Of The Day: Recycling Center
Today’s feature is from Martha Stewart for a Cheap & Easy Recycling Center:
Wide, interlocking bins with open faces and tops make it easy to sort recyclable goods. Screw metal label holders to the front of each bin with stove bolts; attach the bottom bin to a wide dolly with utility-drawer latches, available at hardware stores. The whole unit can be kept in the garage, then rolled out to the curb and unstacked with a minimum of effort.
Watch the dollar stores for these containers, I’ve seen some large ones like this sold for about $5 dollars.
On my garage sale wish list is a large basket so I can make this: Mobile Storage Table, I’ll also keep my eyes peeled for something with castors that I can remove and use for the project. I think it would function perfectly as a newspaper or catalog storage…hmmmm, I’d also like one in my office to store things.
There’s another project outlined here using pegboards, hanging buckets and wire baskets: Trash Course: A Recycling Station.
