Project: Asian Paper Floor Mat
Today’s feature is from Style At Home with Project: Asian Paper Floor Mat:
This project, inspired by Asian wall hangings, will add some Eastern flair to your floors.
Use your favourite Asian papers on the floor by laminating them to a sturdy canvas base. Choose a light to medium weight paper that will easily absorb the diluted PVA glue and adhere well to the canvas surface.
For a free-form look, layer your papers into an interesting collage. For a more modern piece, create a tiled look using same-size squares.
What an interesting idea! Though floor mats are notorious magnets for dust, dirt and hair (even in low-traffic areas) and this surely isn’t something you could toss in the washer to clean. I do think though that both the top and bottom of the rug could be safely wiped with a damp sponge and a cleaning solution strong enough to kill cooties.
