I also have learned that canned food isn't a good idea, because at least the dry can sort of scrape at the teeth! One of my dogs actually "had" to eat Science Diet's T/D, and that really helped! Uh, t/d, you have to get at a veterinarian's place.

I get frustrated learning about different toys/treats. sometimes! Rawhide is'nt supposed to be good because when a dog swallows it it can swell and cause problems, bone, hoofs & hard rawhide can break the teeth, and pig's ears are supposed to be high in sodium/salt, and if a dog has heart problems or could develop it, its not a good thing, there seems to be something wrong with everything, and even the experts don't always agree!

I think it is a matter of knowing your dog and watching carefully, especially as they age, to decide on toys/treats. Hey, even true of ourselves and non-K9 family members!

Hey Art you might want to try some other treat. Dogs should not eat any type of pork, especially boxers.

I give my dog a pig ear as a nightly treat. Her vet says she's amazed at how white her teeth are. No doggy breath either..
