I put drops of aromatic oils in my vacuum cleaner filter, just a few at a time. A lovely scent, rather than the horrible dust smell, pervades my home as I vacuum.
I also use heavily diluted eucalyptus oil in a spray bottle (dilute with water, give a good shake every time just before use) when I am changing my bedclothes.
I vacuum the mattress and pillows, spray and then leave for as long as possible.
At least once a month, I rotate my mattress so that it gets a proper chance to air.
When the weather is going to be pleasant on linen day, I get assistance from my dh or someone strong and cart the mattress outside and put it on top of our dd’s trampoline to air out in the sunshine. The pillows go either on top of the lavender hedge or on top of the rotary clothes line, or just pegged to the clothes line.
