Quick Tip: Cleaning Shower Heads

Shower Head Picture - Tipnut.comIf your shower head has a few holes clogged from hard water deposits, all you need to do is give it a good soak in a vinegar & water solution.

Details:

  • Soak the show head in a pail of 50/50 vinegar and hot water for several hours. The vinegar will eat through the hard gunk and you’ll be back in business with a fully functioning, shiny shower head!

If it’s especially bad, just increase the amount of vinegar and let it soak overnight.

ETA: See Jenny’s comment below about not being suitable for plated fixtures.

Vinegar can be used on stainless steel and chrome fixtures, but nothing plated.

Thank you Jenny, I updated the tip :)

  3. Karen says:

I’m a bit confused about your statement, simply because of the
fact that “Chrome is a Plating.”
