I just used my empty compact to hold leftover bits of lipstick-that stuff that is in the bottom of the tube. I had a couple of tubes with alot left in the bottom so I took a wooden cuticle stick and dug it out placing it in the compact. Then I stirred it around and got myself a custom color. Another old trick is to use a lipstick brush to get out the last bit of lipstick from the tube. Its amazing how much is in there!
