Repurpose Old Towels: Bath Mat Tutorial
Today’s feature is from The {New New} York Etsy Street Team with this Recycled Bath Mat Tutorial, I’m so making this!
What you need:
An old beat up towel (this is the base for the new bath mat)
A yard or so of fabric
Thread & pins
What you do:
Cut the towel in two equal sizes (your bath mat base will be two layers of toweling), weave strips of fabric over top, add a border then sew around the border of the bath mat to secure everything in place. That’s it! Please visit the site for all the details and see plenty of pics. Nice stuff!
Found via Whipup, always so crafty-fabulous!

Wouldn’t it slip on the floor? Is there a way to make it non skid? I fall down a lot. This is an awesome idea.
Use Clear Cauking on bottom side of mat to stop the skidding.
Great idea!
Melody,
Try the Dollar Store they have a no-skid roll for only a buck you can use it to put under rugs or use it as shelf liners. I believe it comes in a 12″x3foot roll.
