Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a "story" behind the Sock Monkey - where it originated from, if it's supposed to be good luck?, just a toy - any info on the history?

Thank you,
Carole

Thank you for posting your sock monkey and sock elephant flyer. I just spent an hour looking through my books (two or three times) for mine but couldn't find it. I wanted to make it for an upcoming baby shower gift and was terribly disappointed when it kept eluding me. Now to get started!

I made sock monkeys 30 yrs. ago. I don't remember having to cut the mouth from the second sock. It seems I used the red heal from sock one, omitting the step of cutting and sewing the red heal on.

Wondering if I can add this to my new ebook with credit to you here?
