An amazing trick!

Our 1-minute video shows you how to easily retrieve anything that went down the drain…without a pipe wrench or a plumber.

I’ve dropped a few things down the drain myself and this is one thing I’ve never thought to try to retrieve the object and clear the drain. I find toothpaste caps seem particularly interested in taking a trip down the drain pipe.

Watch how he uses a … oops, just for fun I’m not going to reveal the secret … watch the video and you’ll see ;) .

I was unable to view the video. How can I get a hard copy?

  2. Pauline says:

Couldn’t see the video. I have a drain with several earrings in it and I would love to know how to get them back. I think I have the gist of it but would appreciate knowing the real thing.

  3. Peg Thomas says:

I could not view video either. Each time it asked me to download a new plugin.

  4. Nancy says:

I am another one who could not view the video. I clicked then double clicked when that didn’t work and nothing happened either time.

  5. Nancy says:

OK, so I was clicking on the wrong thing, Sorry. I got it to play and was surprised at how easy the vacuum made it. Although not everyone has a wet/dry vac handy. If the drain has an overflow I’d imagine that would also need to be plugged so the full suction could go down the pipe.

Sorry guys, I should have realized some may not be able to access the video and would like to know the tip.

He uses a wet/dry vacuum, covers the hose with pantyhose and then sucks up the item that has fallen down the drain. The pantyhose catches the item and prevents it from being sucked up into the vacuum.

  7. Sorry folks. The original video required Quicktime. I’ve switched it now to a format that should work for more people.

    Best,

Thank you so much!! We had dropped a bottle cap down the shower drain and it was plugged up and I thought I would have to call a plumber. I used this pantyhose and vacuum trick and got it up in under a minute (it took longer to get the vacuum upstairs than to vacuum it out). You saved me a call to the plumber! Thank you so much!

My wife dropped her diamond earring down our second floor shower drain! When I watched the video I thought this would NEVER work. I used a nylon and shopvac just like the video showed and it actually worked! I still can’t believe my eyes. This video has saved us I’m sure at least 2 fights about the earring being lost. Thank You!!!!!
