Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce – Recipe
Ingredients
1 lb lean ground beef
1 onion (chopped)
1/2 cup green pepper (diced)
2 cans diced tomatoes (14 oz)
1 can tomato paste (6 oz)
1 can tomato sauce (8 oz)
4 garlic cloves (minced)
1 TBS brown sugar
2 tsp oregano (dried)
2 tsp basil (dried)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp thyme (dried)
1 bay leaf
grated parmesan cheese (optional)
Directions
- Brown meat in saucepan. Add onions and green pepper, browning lightly. Drain and add to slow cooker.
- Add the rest of the ingredients (except parmesan cheese) and give the mix a good stir. Cover.
- Cook on low 7 to 8 hours, remove lid the last hour to thicken sauce.
- Top with parmesan cheese and serve.

You can just add a tsp of italian seasoning; too many dried spices give people heartburn. Also, brown sugar with tomatoes isn’t so good either. Otherwise, this sounds absolutly DELISIOUS! You cas also add some olives to make it Greek-ish. YUM!
Thanks for the recipe. Before advice is given on changes please try the recipe as written. Brown sugar is very good with tomatoes.TRY IT! I like to add a dash of cinnamon although this is good as is.
