DIY Spice Rack

Picture of Spice Rack [craftynest.com] - Tipnut.comToday’s feature is from Crafty nest with this project for a DIY Spice Rack:

My old spice rack just wasn’t cutting it. I barely cook, but even I have accumulated more spices than what fit in those 12 small tins. I couldn’t find the right spice rack, so I created my own. And made room for expansion.

I love how this looks on the counter, but you could tweak this so it could hang in the pantry.

Some basic woodworking is involved, materials needed for project:

  • 25 8oz. seamless tins
  • 3½-inch wide thin plank of wood
  • wood filler
  • primer
  • paint
  • finish nails
  • address labels
  • dot stickers
  • thin, white cardboard or bristol board

A pdf download is also available for ready made spice labels, but you could also design your own easily (see How To Make Personalized Mailing Labels: Tutorial). And don’t miss the handy tip to stick labels underneath each spice tin to mark the expiry date of the spices.

Please visit the site above for all the project details.
