Spring Cleaning Outdoors – Chore Chart

Yesterday’s big list of Spring Cleaning tips was for indoors, but the yard and outside of the house has a bunch of chores that need to be tended to–plus there’s plenty of prep work to be done for the upcoming season (whew!). Here’s a chore chart to help you get organized…

Chore Chart
- Check & clear gutters, look for leaks & fix
- Check roof, shingles & chimney
- Wash siding, doors & windows
- Wash & inspect fence
- Clean rain barrel
- Check or setup the compost area (How To Build A Compost Bin, Make Your Own Cheap & Easy Worm Bin, How To Make Compost Guide, How to Build a $15 Compost Bin)
- Clean garage, shed, dog house or dog run
- Rake up & clean the dog potty area
- Rake lawn
- Wash deck/patio
- Sweep and hose down the driveway & sidewalks
- Prepare flower beds and gardens
- Clear debris from hedges, bushes, trees
- Wash garden containers if they weren’t cleaned before storing away
- Check and clean garden tools and equipment (if not done in the fall before storage)
- Wash and set out all patio & yard furniture, check for needed repairs
- Pull out BBQ, prepare fire pit or outdoor grill, check propane tank
- Prepare plant potting center
- Wash bird bath and set out
- Set out hummingbird feeders
- Set up the cold frame

- Document paint jobs & repairs that are needed
- Supplies needed for yard and garden
