Here’s a lovely assortment of free crochet patterns for totes and bags…many are great to take along when shopping or at the beach while others are a little more sophisticated in design. I’ll be adding to this list as I find more goodies so you might want to bookmark this page. Enjoy!

Sicily ^[1]: Fun & colorful with the body in rows of assorted colors and a cheery floral top border.

Market ^[2]: Features a pretty lacy stitch and pops of color along the handles, pdf download available as well as a stitch chart.

Colorful Stripes ^[3]: The bottom is done in the round then once you achieve the size you want, dc rows up the body and top off with a shell edging.

Felted with Lace Handles ^[4]: Constructed with a front and back panel, bottom/side panel is one piece. Finished size measures 10″ (width) x 6 1/2″ (height).

Masa ^[5]: Very simple and is worked into a rectangle 20 cm wide and 53 cm long and then folded and stitched into shape.

Here’s a shoe bag from an old issue of The Workbasket magazine. I’ve scanned it into a pdf file if you’d like to download it.

It takes approximately 210 yards (1 skein) in any desired color. Use a plastic hook, size J or any size hook which will result in gauge given.
