Today’s feature is from Joan at Lazy Girl Designs with Make Our 1 Yard, 1 Hour Free Tote Bag Pattern For Last Minute Holiday Gift Bags:
Make this quick and simple tote bag in about an hour from one yard of fabric. It’s perfect for a gift bag or as you carry goodies with you on your holiday ventures. A lightweight fabric such as quilter’s cotton is recommended.
The finished bag is approximately 16” deep by 19” wide with a cuff around the top edge of the bag and an optional Velcro closure.
Very cool pattern that needs only 1 yard of fabric and some grosgrain ribbon (if you like). Simple to whip up and use for toting around gifts this season. Don’t miss the tutorial section, lots of other great projects listed there too: Free Lazy Tutorials.

I made this bag. It was easy and didn’t take long but it turned out very large.
Tote bags can also be made using newspaper as a paper pattern. Just copying a grocery bag you already have; for handles you can make them with fabric, or even a nice rope.
The tote bags are lovely and easy to make.Saves you money because you can also carry it as a shopping bag and don’t have to buy those at the supermarket and use it for one or two months and they look old and dirty and even tear easily. Thanks for your pattern.
