Whirl-It Lampshade: How-To
Today’s feature is from Pickles with this tutorial for making a Whirl-It Lampshade:

Whirl-It Lampshade Project By pickles.no
We really needed a new lamp, and we´ve planned to make one for months. This week we finally got around to it. It takes a bit of different materials, but it´s really easy when you´ve started. We recommend making it outdoors, as it gets quite messy. The result is pretty neat, especially at night when the threads cast shadow on the walls.
This looks fun! You cover a balloon with Vaseline then saturate yarn with some strong wallpaper glue and apply it to the balloon “whirly-style”. Once the yarn is dry, pop the balloon, insert the lightbulb and hang.
Supplies needed:
- One big, round balloon & a pump to fill it with air
- 2 balls of yarn (cotton or acrylic).
- Vaseline
- Water resistant marker
- Wallpaper glue
- Something to hang the lamp by (project author altered an IKEA’s ricelamp hanging device)
- Wire with lightening bulb
Please visit the site listed above for all the details, nice job!
