Start by selecting a lovely combination of fabrics….using a variation of dark and light colors.

A Jelly Roll works really well for this sewing project…since your strips need to be cut 2 1/2″ or 3″ in width.

The tutorial explains how to weave strips of fabric together until you have your desired size, pin and sew to a piece of batting then finish off with a border and another layer of batting and solid fabric (for the back).

This is a great way to use strips of pretty scrap fabrics and the potholders would make a lovely handmade gift.
